Movie Outline is a software program strictly for screenwriters, designed specifically to help you outline and organize your script. It's easy to use.
Movie Outline opens to a work space mostly devoted to the outline itself. You type in the heading for your scene and then a scene description. Your scenes then appear to the right, under the Outline tab. The outline tab lets you view your scenes in outline form, highlight specific scenes, and rearrange the order of the scenes.
In addition to the Outline tab, there is a Project Info tab, a Notes tab, and a Reference tab. The Project Info tab lets you record and store the title of the project, author name, genre, theme, and a log line or synopsis.
Movie Outline has a PowerView mode which lets you look at, and work with, your story in color-coded outline mode. The outline can be viewed and printed as scene headings or as scene headings with full outline text. There's also a PowerTracker feature that allows you to track specified text (characters, phrases, etc) throughout your outline.
Unique to Movie Outline is the Reference tab, which displays outlines for produced movies in two different views (outline or scene description), allowing you to check the pace of your story against successful produced films. Outlines for "Die Hard", "There's Something About Mary", "Scream", "Good Will Hunting", "True Romance", and "When Harry Met Sally" come with Movie Outline. You can purchase plug-ins from the web site that include several other movies.
Movie Outline costs $69.95. If you are one of those writers who likes to sit down and work your story out from start to finish, Movie Outline is something you should consider taking a look at. It's a valuable tool for any screenwriter.
