Ben Younger

Boiler Room (2000)

DIRECTOR
The Hire (2001)

While working as a waiter in a New York City restaurant the screenwriter struck up a conversation with one of the regulars, screenwriter Steve Kerper, soon after Ben Younger had an agent and astoningishly made his feature screenwriting and directorial debut with "The Boiler Room" (2000). Orignially from Brooklyn, the writer attended the City University of New York, where he studied political science. After becoming a corporate video cameraman, Younger wrote and directed a short, "L & M", which was shown at various film festivals. He got his inspiration for "The Boiler Room" when he himself was recruited as a boiler room trainee, and he spent a year researching underground telemarketing brokerages while writing his screenplay for the film.
