SCRIPT SALE OF THE WEEK:
SCRIPT: "We Love You", The story centers on two close friends who discover they're dating the same woman and try to disentangle the situation.

Production Notes: Summit Entertainment, Jon Shestack will produce. Yang counts "South Park" and "Parks and Recreation" among his credits; he also sold the interracial adoption comedy "White Dad" to Sony and has done a rewrite of the David Dobkin project "Boss Go Home" at Warners.
SCRIPT: "Reel to Real", story involves a magical film projector.
Writer: pitch by Eric Saiet and Andrea Maywhort-Scully.

Production Notes: Disney. Saiet and Maywhort-Scully, based in New York, are newcomers to the screenwriting.
SCRIPT: "Supermax", set in a maximum-security prison for the supernatural. The story centers on a skilled prison guard who is reassigned to Supermax. After a riot erupts, he must join forces with one of the prison's monstrous inmates in order to survive and fight his way out.

SCRIPT: "Mercy" , centers on a family intent on protecting their dying mother, and their individual financial interests, from the violent wrath of a religious sect.

Production Notes: Gold Circle Films has preemptively picked up the spec script. Gold Circle is fast-tracking the project, eyeing a shoot in early 2010. The company recently released "The Haunting in Connecticut" through Lionsgate and has "The 4th Kind," starring Milla Jovovich, going out November 6 via Universal. Sparling is best known for "Buried," his first feature script. The thriller, now in production, centers on a civilian contractor (Ryan Reynolds) who is kidnapped and awakens to find he has been buried alive in the Iraqi desert with only a phone and a lighter at his disposal inside a coffin.

Production Notes: New Line hires Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley to work over the screenplay. Daley and Goldstein do a lot of business with New Line. They sold their original script "The $40,000 Man" to the studio and worked on the in-development magician comedy "Burt Wonderstone" there.
