Montage screenwriting app adds Mac support

Mariner Software on Wednesday announced the release of Montage 1.2, an update to their screenwriting software for Mac OS X. A free update for registered users, Montage 1.2 costs $139.95.

Montage features editing tools specific to writing screenplays for television, film, or theatrical productions. It features a live outline view, script view, character view, locations view, research and notes view, and tasks view. You can visually filter your script to only find desired content, as well. And Montage features management tools as well, so you can submit, track and send queries, synopses and scripts to industry contacts. It integrates with Apple’s Address Book.

New features in Montage 1.2 include scene numbering, .Mac integration, a new smart type system, better Final Draft file importing, improved text file importing, new Keyword support for preferences, views and smart views. Elements that can be assigned by keyboard shortcuts, customizable auto-type options, and much more — a complete list of what’s changed has been posted to the Web site.

Montage requires Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later, 128MB RAM, 40MB hard disk space and a G4 or better processor (including Intel). A 30-day trial version is available for download.
