Fantasy Frenzy Continues with KING OF THE ELVES
Walt Disney has jumped on the overcrowded fantasy bandwagon with their
purchase of KING OF THE ELVES by Wally Wolodarsky (COLDBLOODED, 1995).
The script is based on a Philip K. Dick short story. Don't the studio
heads realize that any fantasy picture from here on out will be compared
to LORD OF THE RINGS and thus inevitably fall short of audience
expectations? They ought to be working on different genre-defining
projects.
STORYLINE: Elves make a small boy their king in the hope that he
will help them defeat the Troll King's army.
WRITER: Wally Wolodarsky
DEAL: $1 million
