Scribe Scores A Hat Trick
Bill Wheeler has sold three scripts in one week. They are THE MAN WHO ROBBED
THE PIERRE, an adaptation purchased by Image Movers; THE HOAX, a drama bought by
Mutual Film Corp.; and an untitled gambler pitch acquired by Universal and Gone
Fishin' Prods. Terms of the deals were not available.
STORYLINES:
THE MAN WHO ROBBED THE PIERRE: An adaptation of the Ira Berkow novel that centers
on the 1972 heist at the Pierre hotel.
HOAX: Centers on the exploits of Clifford Irving, the author of the bogus Howard
Hughes autobiography.
UNTITLED: Based on the life of Ken Uston, the legendary blackjack player and card
counter who was at the center of a Supreme Court decision to legalize card counting.
Uston was mysteriously killed.
