Sony Seizes Cornwell Canon
Sony has struck a deal with novelist Patricia Cornwell for the
film rights to her eleven best-selling novels. Cornwell will
eceive an initial $5 million payout, with additional payments
to follow for the five year option. As the novels all concern the
same female protaganist it is pretty obvious that Sony is thinking
"franchise".
STORYLINE: Various, but they all concern female medical
examiner, Dr. Kay Scarpetta.
WRITER: Patricia Cornwell (novels)
PRICE: $5 million plus additional payments.
