DreamWorks picks up FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS...
DreamWorks has made a preemptive deal for screen rights to
FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS, a bestselling Bantam book by authors
James Bradley and Ron Powers.
Story line: one man's attempt to piece together his
father's role in raising the American flag on the island
of Iwo Jima during World War II.
Deal: $500,000
Writer credits: n/a
Notes: The book was passed on by 26 publishers until
Bantam picked it up. Dreamworks can't seem to let go of the
WWII era, which is fine. Look for FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS to be
eleased on video or perhaps a HBO, or Showtime movie.
