novelist Robert Stone's drama "Damascus Gate."

Deal: mid seven-figures.
Writer credits: a bunch of novels; "Flag for Sunrise,"
"Children of Light," "Outerbridge Reach," the National Book Award-
winning "Dog Soldiers" and "Hall of Mirrors." "Dog Soldiers" was
adapted into the film "Who'll Stop the Rain" and "Hall of Mirrors"
became "WUSA."
