Hollywood Script Deals
Warner Bros. has picked up the rights to the spec script
"The Bear & the Bull," by former CAA assistant and first-
time scribe Jay Lavender, age 24. He was also a former
commodities trader as well.
Story line: amid Chicago's frenetic commodities market a group
of young traders who must rally together to reach their full
potential in the face of fast-encroaching technology, which
threatens to make the trading floor a relic.
Deal: low-six-figures and as part of the pact, Warner also gets
an option on a future, blind script commitment from Lavender.
Writer credits: first-time writer, but look out for his spec
script "Spirit in the Sky," a drama about golf. Samuel L. Jackson
is attached as a producer amd would also co-star.
