M. Night Shyamalan Re-shooting Ending For THE VILLAGE?
May 24th, 2004
According to an article in the Philadelphia Daily News this past weekend, M. Night Shyamalan and crew were recently in Pennsylvania to shoot additional footage for his movie, THE VILLAGE. According to the report, Sigourney Weaver, William Hurt, Joaquin Phoenix, and Bryce Howard were present for a three-day shoot, which, several crewmembers say, was the filming of a new ending. In the movie, "there's an agreement between the humans and the beasts to leave each other alone, until one day, Phoenix's character wanders into their sanctum. Then all hell breaks loose." Shyamalan has said that KING KONG, ALIEN and WUTHERING HEIGHTS were inspiration for his story. A spokeswoman for the filmmaker told the newspaper that the shooting did not involve a new ending.
