Universal Pictures Options Sweet and Vicious
According to Variety, Universal Pictures has optioned David Schickler's upcoming novel, "Sweet and Vicious", and hired the author to pen the screenplay. The story centers on a diamond thief hiding out in a small Wisconsin town and the girl at the car wash who falls in love with him.
Paramount Adapting Without Remorse & Rainbow Six
Variety is reporting that Paramount has negotiated tow seperate deals and signed screenwriters Stuart Beattie and John Enbom to adapt Tom Clancy novels "Without Remorse" and "Rainbow Six", respectively. Clancy's central character, John Clark CIA agent character, is ideal for a franchise. Reportedly the studio has attached high priority to both projects.
"Without Remorse" centers on an ex-Navy SEAL who infiltrates a gang responsible for killing a woman he loved and then taking on a new name and life as John Clark. "Rainbow Six", Clark joins with several colleagues to leave the CIA and create an England-based multinational org designed to battle terrorism.
