Getting Credit is PUNISHING...
May 12th, 2004
According to IGN FilmForce, Writers Guild of America has determined the final screenwriting credits for "The Punisher." As we know, the process of arbitration for screenwriting credit can be controversial, and often disputes can last months. Here's what IGN reported:
So far there have been different screenwriting credits used in various publicity materials for The Punisher. D.A. Stern's novelization says it is "based on the original screenplay by Jonathan Hensleigh."
Marvel Comics' official movie adaptation, however, is "based on a screenplay written by Jonathan Hensleigh, Michael Tolkin and Michael France," although the comic book indicates that these credits are "not contractual."
Now the WGA has spoken...
According to sources, the final screenwriting credit for The Punisher will read "Written by Jonathan Hensleigh and Michael France."
The Punisher opens April 16th.
