JOE'S LAST CHANCE scribe Dwayne Alexander Smith has sold the comedy spec ZILLION to Bill Mechanic's Pandemonium Films. ZILLION revolves around a dashing billionaire supersleuth named Matthew Zillion who teams up with a no-nonsense female detective in New York to crush an international drug ring. Mechanic will produce with Pandemonium's Ashley Kramer and production/management company Circle of Confusion's Lawrence Mattis. "Dwayne has a very funny and original voice, and we love the character he created in Matthew Zillion," Kramer told The Hollywood Reporter. "We are very excited by the potential of this movie on its own and as a possible franchise." A native of New York, Smith worked as a production assistant and locations assistant before getting into screenwriting. He is repped by Circle of Confusion and Peter Grossman of Lichter Grossman Nichols Adler.
