Heads Will Roll at Warner Bros. and There's SIGNS to Prove it...
August 26th, 2002
Its all over but the shouting. Heads are going to roll at Warner Bros after the debacle that is THE ADVENTURES OF PLUTO NASH. Opening with a low $2.0 million, the film, which reportedly cost over $100 million to make, mercifully sank with a lowly $600,000 take for its second weekend. Warner Bros is making shit: retread, recycled movies. In their effort to produce nothing orignial, but sure thing box office successes, they have failed miserably. Their list of recent films: BLOOD WORK, SCOOBY DOO, DIVINE SECRETS OF THE YA-YA SISTERHOOD, EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS, JUWANNA MAN, and I can't continue. Good job WB!
In a surprising turn of events, M. Night Shyamalans flawed thriller SIGNS has returned to reign supreme at the BO after a two-week absence overtaking the Vin Diesel actioneer XXX. It was kind of a pick your poison weekend if you were hell bent on seeing a flicker.
Heres to hoping the future looks brighter, though doubtful.
