A remake of Alfred Hitchcock's SUSPICION has new life. According to Variety, Philip Kaufman has signed on to direct and playwright John Guare is writing the screenplay for Dimension Films and RKO Pictures.
Joan Fontaine won an Oscar for her role in the 1941 RKO film as the spinster daughter of a wealthy family who marries a popular playboy played by Cary Grant. When it becomes clear he married for the money, she begins to suspect he's plotting to kill her.
The original movie was based on the novel BEFORE THE FACT by Frances Iles.
