Paramount Pictures picks up THE GENERAL'S WOMAN for Cruise/Wagner Productions

First time novelist Micaela Gilchrist of Colorado has sold the film rights to her novel THE GENERAL'S WOMAN. Paramount picked up the tab as a possible starring vehicle for Nicole Kidman. No word yet on who will pen the adaptation.
Story line: based on diaries discovered by Gilchrist which were kept by a 19th century St. Louis woman married to a general in the U.S. Army.
Deal: low-six-figures.
