Schrader Dropped from EXORCIST 4

The long-in-development "Exorcist" prequel which has already been through a shuffle of scripts and directors during its lengthy gestation has just hit another snag, according to an article in the New York Post, which reports that famed writer ("Taxi Driver", "Raging Bull") and director ("American Gigolo" and the 1982 "Cat People" remake) Paul Schrader has been "unceremoniously dumped" from post-production on "Exorcist IV: The Beginning".
The article, which quotes from a "production source" states that "the movie is done" but the film's production company, Morgan Creek, refused Schrader post-production money because "they hated" the pointedly non-gory film that the director had delivered.
