Screenwriter-director John Ridley to Direct his Own Thriller...

Screenwriter-director John Ridley will direct the thriller "Let Me Take You Down" from his original screenplay which is setup at Lions Gate. The project is described by its producers as an eerie tale of murder, obsession, intrigue and Hollywood folklore centering on a young "bagger" for the Los Angeles Coroner's Office who finds striking similarities between the murder of a young woman and the notorious 1947 Black Dahlia case that has riveted the public imagination for decades. "This project is a passion of mine, and finding a joint that digs atypical material isn't easy," Ridley told reuters. Lions Gate is eyeing a 2004 release. Ridley's screenwriting credits include "Three Kings" and "Undercover Brother," and he is also an executive producer on UPN's hip-hop series "Platinum."
