Script Report: THE NUMBER 23
Joel Schumacher is in negotiations to direct New Line Cinema's THE NUMBER 23 for Firm Films. Penned by first-time British writer Fernley Phillips, the project is a psychological thriller centering on a man who is obsessed with an obscure book titled THE NUMBER 23 and becomes convinced that the book is based on his own life as the number 23 is woven throughout his life. Firm Films' Beau Flynn is producing the project. The project picked up on spec for a low- against mid-six figures eight months ago. Schumacher recently directed 20th Century Fox's PHONE BOOTH which premiered recently at the Toronto International Film Festival.
