Script Report: MANEATER
June 17th, 2002
From the Hollywood Reporter: "Mandalay Pictures has paid $1 million for the feature film rights to the upcoming novel 'Maneater' from author-screenwriter Gigi Levangie Grazer. The hotly contested property, a comedy described as being in the vein of BRIDGET JONE'S DIARY, will also be adapted for the big screen by Grazer. Set in Los Angeles, MANEATER revolves around the adventures of a woman on the brink of turning 30 years old. Though Levangie Grazer (who is married to Imagine Entertainment's Brian Grazer) has written successful scripts and novels in the past, this project marks the first time she will adapt her own work. Her screenwriting credits include 1998's STEPMOM, while her previous novel, RESCUE ME, is currently in development at Fox Searchlight."
