Script Report: CHAOS

According to Variety, Universal Pictures has made a deal to remake the 1999 Hideo Nakata-directed Japanese film KAOSU, "Chaos." Rumor has it that Benicio Del Toro will topline it, and that Robert De Niro, who's also producing will play a supporting role. CHAOS follows a young grifter who gets involved in the kidnapping of the wife of a wealthy businessma (De Niro). The woman is all too willing to be tied up and stored in the grifter's (Del Toro) house when the kidnapper leaves to make his ransom demand. Things become complicated when he returns home and finds the woman is dead. Universal hopes to fast-track the film once a quality script is produced.
