I AM LEGEND may finally happen

Arnold Schwarzenegger has smartly moved out of the starring role and has taken up producer chores. Hes trying to get the BAD BOYS team of Will Smith and Mike Bay onto the project.
The film, a post-apocalyptic drama, has been made before. But personally I think it can get its best treatment today. I thought Mark Protosevichs screenplay (which was a gentle reworking of Mathesons novel) was brilliant. It was definitely one of the best action-adventure scripts Ive ever read (because it was intelligent and didnt cheat).
Smith can bring an exciting tweak to the lost-father main character and Mike Bay, who gets beat up more than he should, was born to helm this movie.
In the Variety piece about this story they mentioned Will and Mike are trying to start up BAD BOYS II. The latest writer on the project? Ron Shelton! The writer-director behind WHITE MEN CANT JUMP, TIN CUP and the best damn baseball movie ever, BULL DURHAM. What is the world coming to when Shelton wastes his immense talent on BAD BOYS II?
