Cameron on the small screen

In a last death-gasp for the show, executive producer James Cameron will direct the second-season finale of Dark Angel, his faltering TV show. My guess is this is a ploy to go out with huge ratings, so Fox thinks about keeping it for year three. The show, which has become a sort of muted, expensive pile of insignificance, has floated off into TV limbo. The real blow might have been the excellence of Alias, which really did it in. Now you could see a hot chick kicking ass -- on a show that was actually good.

Camerons name alone got twenty million people to watch the pilot. So maybe his name will do the same for the second-season finale.
