UNDECLARED star goes to NICKLEBY
February 11th, 2002
Charlie Hunnam, who plays Lloyd on the TV show UNDECLARED, will star in a low-budget version of NICHOLAS NICKLEBY for director Doug McGrath. McGrath, who wrote the script, has been down this classic-book road before; he directed Gwyneth Paltrow in EMMA.
Hunnam, who I think is the best of a great bunch of actors (theres a certain lazy arrogance, an insouciant, no-care attitude that makes his character come alive on the show), will be joined by actors Jamie Bell, Nathan Lane and Christopher Plummer. Jim Broadbent (who starred in the McGrath co-scripted BULLETS OVER BROADWAY, and in doing so became a star) and Miranda Richardson are in discussions to join the cast, and an offer has been extended to Anne Hathaway.
The film, budgeted at under $10 million, will begin shooting in London in April.
