Hudson and Watts to hook up for Merchant/Fox

Naomi Watts continues to line up projects in the aftermath of MULHOLLAND DR.
Naomi and Kate Hudson are in negotiations to star in LE DIVORCE for Merchant Ivory and Fox Searchlight.
James Ivory will direct the movie. It is based on the best-selling and National Book Award nominated novel by Diane Johnson.
DIVORCE is a transatlantic, Henry James-esque quest about two Americans -- one an expat, the other a visitor -- in Paris. It features a film-school dropout who heads to the City of Light to serve as an emissary between her pregnant, cuckolded stepsister and her upper-class family of her French painter husband.
Hudson will be seen next alongside Wes Bentley in FOUR FEATHERS.
Naomi Watts next gig is the American remake of THE RING, which is co-scripted by Scott Frank.
