Everyones favorite hack director is teaming up with everyones favorite hack writer again. Lasse Hallstrom and Robert Nelson Jacobs, who teamed for CHOCOLAT and THE SHIPPING NEWS, will next bring the stunning cinematic vision A CONSPIRACY OF PAPER to the screen.
Based on the novel by David Liss, PAPER is a thriller set in London in the early 18th century, framed around the inception of the stock exchange.
By taking on the project, Hallstrom (who was once going to direct CATCH ME IF YOU CAN) is leaving behind CINDERELLA MAN, a drama about Depression-era heavyweight boxing champ Jim Braddock. The film was going to star Renee Zellweger and Russell Crowe. Crowe delayed the film fourteen months to star in Peter Weirs FAR SIDE OF THE WORLD, a 135 million dollar maritime epic that will begin shooting this summer.
