Mangold sets cast for I.D.
February 7th, 2002
An impressive cast is assembling for director James Mangolds next film: John Cusack, Ray Liotta and Amanda Peet are in final negotiations to star in I.D.
In the gentle, soft-handed vernacular of the trades, the film is in the vein of AND THEN THERE WERE NONE. In other words, it is a rip of Christies creation, and a bunch of people are in one location (in this case a roadside motel during a desert storm) and get knocked off one by one.
Heres a scary thought for the makers of this film: isnt there still a Sly Stallone version of this -- the same kind of rip-off, only set in a detox -- collecting dust on a shelf?
For what its worth, Mangold has directed HEAVY, COP LAND, GIRL, INTERRUPTED, and KATE & LEOPOLD. Hes had a hand in writing all of them.
