Disney Buys ILLUSION
January 25th, 2002
The Walt Disney Co. picked up the pitch ILLUSION by screenwriters Brent Bell and Matt Peterman.
The thriller, said to be in the vein of F/X and THE FUGITIVE (meaning it steals the formers cool way of getting out of situations and steals the latters run, run, run format), it is about an illusionist who is falsely accused of a crime and uses his skills as a magician to clear his name.
Jonathan Frakes (who directed a STAR TREK film) is in talks to direct.
Bell and Peterman previously sold the spec MERCURY to Universal Pictures and sold the pitch BANDELERO to Warner Bros. Pictures.
