According to reports, GANGS OF NEW YORK director Martin Scorsese, and star Leonardo DiCaprio, are taking on the epic project ALEXANDER. (See Script Review)
U.S. sales and production company IEG has snapped up the spec from writers Peter Buchman (JURASSIC PARK III) and Oscar winner Christopher McQuarrie (THE USUAL SUSPECTS) for a mid-seven-figure sum. Scorsese to direct and DiCaprio to star.
Story line: Alexander the Great, crowned King of Macedonia after the murder of his father, Philip. The story centers on Alexander's ambition to conquer the world, which ultimately leads to his downfall.
