Script Report: VENUS DOWN and DA UNKNOWN SOLDIER
August 20th, 2001
(Frankly, nothing but garbage.)
Paramount has paid out a seven-figure deal to Peter Segal and Fred Wolf, the writers behind the Chris Farley/David Spade comedy TOMMY BOY (that great American classic), to pen VENUS DOWN.
The New York-set story concerns an arrogant goddess of love who takes a challenge laid down by her father, who wagers that she cannot win the love of a mortal without her powers in 30 days.
* * *
New Line Cinema paid a low-six-figure advance for SCARY MOVIE scribe Phil Beauman's action buddy comedy spec DA UNKNOWN SOLDIER. (Now this one sounds like a winner.)
Rapper Ice Cube is negotiating to join the project as producer and star. Enough said.
