Script Comment: JAMES BOND Script in Development
July 31st, 2001
Dark Horizons is reporting that an early James Bond script entitled FINAL ASSIGNMENT has surfaced.
Its story deals with 00 agents and their origin. According to the report:
"In the script, Bond learns information that Q had been concealing for years - his father may not have died alongside his mother in a climbing accident in Chamonix and the main villain 'Saten' (who is developing mind control) has some link with them. One sequence has Bond visiting his mother's grave which leads into a big action sequence on Mont Blanc with a henchmen killed within the ice itself (hence the rumoured "Beyond the Ice" title). Sydney, New York and Tokyo are the site of the rest of the film's big action scenes including a helicopter chase, a car submersible, and one sequence involving the World Cup Soccer. The lead girl in the film is Agent 008 who took over the position after her father was killed (by Bond). The opening sequence involves "a jet black motorbike with amazing gadgets, two cars, two speedboats and a cruise ship in St.Lucia"."
Sounds decent. We'll get you more info when we can.
