Script Report: TRUCK 44

Fox 2000 is in final negotiations for TRUCK 44 after Universal Pictures allowed the project to be placed in turnaround.
Universal originally picked up TRUCK 44 last fall and placed it quickly into pre-production, but the picture stalled over several issues, including budget. Since that time the script has seen significant rewriting. Written by Peter Berg -- who will also direct -- (VERY BAD THIINGS), the story deals with a group of NYC firefighters plan an elaborate heist in a prestigious apartment building but when things go wrong, they inadvertently set off a fire that rages out of control and the firefighters are forced to prevent disaster. Samuel L. Jackson had been attached to the project while it was set up at Universal, but it's unclear if he will do the project now.
