A Pair of Newcomers Get Six-Figure Deals!
June 14th, 2001
Working Title Films (Universal-based) has paid low against mid-six figures to acquire first-timer scribe Scott Kosar's spec script THE MACHINIST. The script deals with a shadowy and elusive figure who begins to terrify a machinist until he confesses to a hit-and-run death.
Summit Entertainment and Newmarket Group, which teamed to produce MEMENTO, have forked out a mid-six figures for the thriller spec THE KEY MAN, from newcomer Michael Konyves. The script looks like a wild one, as it opens with two men strapped to a ticking bomb, each with the power to blow up the other, and tells the tale of how they got to that point. It is currently out to directors.
