CYBER LOVE STORY written by Ron Bass (ENTRAPMENT, RAIN MAN) was purchased by Roland Emmerich's Centropolis -- through its discretionary fund before its deal ended at Columbia Pictures earlier this year. The project is now being developed by Dean Devlin's Electric, which Devlin launched in May. Emmerich is attached to direct.
The story takes place in the future where online chat rooms have become complete synthetic environments. The project was pitched to Devlin and Emmerich by Bass. The idea was pitched to Bass by Landscape senior VP Michael Birnbaum.
