June 11th, 2001
First-timer Maurissa Tancheroen sold an untitled pitch for low-six-figures to Revolution partner Todd Garner.
The story centers on two Asian-American FBI agents who go undercover as Korean grocery store clerks to infiltrate a gang in South Central Los Angeles.
"This is my first official gig as a screenwriter,'' Tancheroen told Variety. ``It's a break for me, and I am so grateful for the opportunity. Revolution is an amazing place to be.''
Tancheroen attended Occidental College, and during which penned two plays, both were produced. The plays also won the Argonaut & Moore literary award. Most recently, her play `"The Girl Without Hands'' was an L.A. Weekly pick of the week.
