M. Night Shyamalan Gets Another 8 Figure Deal...

According to Variety, M. Night Shyamalan has reportedly signed another astronomical eight-figure deal with Walt Disney Pictures for SIGNS, yet another supernatural thriller script. It seems the writer/director of THE SIXTH SENSE and UNBREAKABLE is stuck in the supernatural-thriller genre, but who can blame him?
Reportedly Shyamalan delivered the script on Saturday. Disney read it and offered the deal on Sunday.
Once again Shyamalan has set the script in his home state of Pennsylvania. The story deals with the sudden appearance of a 500-foot brilliant array of circles and lines found mysteriously carved into the crops of a farm family in Bucks County.
Considering that Shyamalan got $10 million (including the $5 for directing duties) upfront for UNBREAKABLE, and that this was a preemptive, look for SIGNS to be in the $12 to $15 million range.
