Script Report: THE GOOD GERMAN

Former Washington Post film critic turned Oscar nominated screenwriter, Paul Attanasio (DONNIE BRASCO, QUIZ SHOW), has been hired by Warner Bros. on two projects. He will adapt the Joseph Kanon novel "The Good German," which was bought earlier this year to be produced by Section Eight partners Steven Soderbergh and George Clooney. Attanasio will reportedly begin writing the Jon Peters-produced SUPERMAN. His compensation is reportedly in the $3.5 million range.

THE GOOD GERMAN is a WWII drama about an American journalist sent to cover the last Allied summit meeting of the war. During which he searches for a lost lover in Germany, but this is no simple love story. There's murder, and betrayal as well.
