The Writers Guild of America, East ceremonies honor outstanding writers in film, television and radio. On March 4, at the 53rd Annual Writers Guild Awards, they will honor Tom Fontana and Evan Hunter with special achievement awards.
A West Coast awards dinner will take place simultaneously in Beverly Hills, according to a news release issued this week.
Fontana will be awarded the Evelyn F. Burkey Award for "one whose contributions have brought honor and dignity to writers everywhere."
Hunter will receive this year's Ian McLellan Hunter Award for "lifetime achievement in writing." Hunter's work includes more than 80 novels written under several names.
