According to Variety, Jeanette Winterson adaptation of her own book has been rejected.
THE PASSION, which was set to star Oscar winners Gwyneth Paltrow and Juliette Binoche, is now in limbo with this latest development.
The story is set during the Napoleonic wars and concerns the relationship between a Venetian woman who likes to cross-dress and a young French soldier.
Winterson's screenplay was apparently too long and confusing, so she was `"thrown off" the project. She even has a report on her official Web site (http://jeanettewinterson.com).
