Shyamalan Talks INDIANA JONES IV And His Next Project

First, it seems there is still hope he could write the script for INDIANA JONES IV, which would be very cool. According to reports he is in ongoing negotiations with Steven Spielberg. The director was quoted by Empire Online as saying, "They were asking me to write it and Ive been talking to them about it. Were just in the very early stages of it and I dont know what will happen to it at the end of the day. Theres a lot of people who have to come together to make it happen and its complicated. But, its very exciting and Im very honoured to be in that group of people and to even be thinking about that."

With the tremendous success of THE SIXTH SENSE and now UNBREAKBLE, it seems talk of sequels and trilogies will not die. While talking with Empire Online, Shyamalan had this to say: "Im definitely not the kind of guy who wants to do sequels or be known for just one type of movie. I want each movie to be very, very original, the most original movie you can think of... I have no plans for that right now, its certainly not going to be the next movie."

With no planned sequels in the works Shyamalan has begun work on his next project, and true to form was very secretive concerning story details, "I just started writing it about a week ago, Ive been travelling promoting the film and writing in hotel rooms, Im really enjoying this story."
