Script Rumor: ALIEN PET BOY
November 27th, 2000
According to the The Hollywood Reporter, Dan Schneider (GOOD BURGER) has been hired to do the adaptation for ALIEN PET BOY, which is based on the children's book "Pet Boy" by Keith Graves.
This raises doubt that scribe Chris Bird was ever working on the script as The Hollywood Reporter indicated some time ago. Bird's work is not mentioned and this would lead us to believe that Schneider will be doing a complete rewrite.
ALIEN PET BOY tells the story of a little boy who doesn't like animals. One day while visiting a pet store he goes in back to harm an animal, and discovers the store is owned by an alien masquerading as a human being. Afraid that his secret will get out, the alien cages the boy and sells him to a family of visiting aliens who take him to their home planet as a pet.
