Script Report: CAPTAIN KIDD
November 22nd, 2000
Ridley Scott, director of last summer's hit GLADIATOR, is teaming with producer Jerry Bruckheimer (THE ROCK) on the story of CAPTAIN KIDD.
Captain Kidd began his high seas adventures as a merchant marine in the 1600s. After poor treatment, he and his clan became the scourge of Britain as outlaws on the Sea. He was loved by his men mainly because he gave them a fair split on the loot he didn't bury.
Writing duo Douglas Cook and David Weisberg (THE ROCK, DOUBLE JEOPARDY) are penning the script. Ridley Scott is producing and directing. No word yet on actors.
