Script Report: Universal Developing Another Hannibal Lecter Script Titled RED DR

Universal Developing Another Hannibal Lecter Script

Universal plans to adapt RED DRAGON, the first novel by Thomas Harris to feature the infamous Hannibal Lecter. Ted Tally the screenwriter of SILENCE OF THE LAMBS (1991) has been hired to write the script. Anthony Hopkins has expressed interest in starring in what would be a prequel to SILENCE. In fact, this film could actually be considered a remake of Michael Mann's MANHUNTER (1986) which was also an adaptation of RED DRAGON. I'm all for it if they can churn out a great script AND secure Mr. Hopkins, but with Dino De Laurentis producing the pic, I'm not holding my breath.
