Script Report: SUPER COPS

Why get one screenwriter when you can have two. Nittolo Entertainment and Emmett/Furla Films have signed James Cummings (SOUTHIE) and J.D. Shapiro (BATTLEFIELD EARTH) to adapt SUPER COPS from the 1993 book "The Dark Side of the Force: A True Story of Corruption and Murder in the LAPD" by journalist Jan Golab.
Based on the true story of two highly decorated Vietnam vets turned LA police officers, SUPER COPS deals with detective Richard Ford and officer Robert Von Villa.
Golab's book came out of articles he wrote for Hustler magazine and others. He eventually was subpoenaed to court during the officer's trial, but won a ruling not to have his research turned over to the court.
