Screenwriter Shane Salerno Signs Two Seven-Figure Deals!

Screenwriter Shane Salerno (ARMAGEDDON, SHAFT), 27, started his career while in high school when he wrote, directed and produced his own documentary, SUNDOWN: THE FUTURE OF CHILDREN AND DRUGS. Nine years later he is writing some of the most high-profile projects in Hollywood and working with some of the biggest names.
Today Variety is reporting that Salerno has signed a multi-year seven-figure first-look deal with Danny DeVito's Jersey Films. He will be creating original ideas and stories, as well as rewriting projects. It was also reported that he will be producing as well.
Along with his Jersey Film deal he has a inked a two-year, seven-figure deal with 20th Century Fox TV. Both deals have their origin in of CELEBRITY, a dramatic series that Salerno created for Devito to produce and Fox to make.
It appears that Salerno hit it off with DeVito and his Jersey partners, Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher during that time. He eventually rewrote the Michael Petroni script REVELATION, which will reportedly star George Clooney with DeVito attached to direct. The project is currently set up at Warner Brothers.
