Script Report: IRON MAN

According to the Hollywood Reporter, New Line Cinema, along with Angry Studios, has picked up the project and has placed it on the fast track. It has also been reported that New Line has hired scribe Tim McCanlies (THE IRON GIANT) to adapt the Marvel comic series for the big screen. Don Murphy and Avi Arad have been slated as producers.
IRON MAN tells the story of billionaire Tony Stark, who creates a suit of armor to protect his injured heart. Eventually Stark creates the persona of Iron Man.
Scribes Terry Rossio and Ted Elliott (MASK OF ZORRO) were rumored last year to have been writing an IRON MAN script.
NEW: 'Zach' let us know that Terry Rossio and Ted Elliott did not write a draft, and were in fact never hired to do so.
