Live at Telluride: THE TELLURIDE FILM FESTIVAL

Here are some of the photos we have for the festival, unfortunately not all of them came out. First we have a series of photos from a Saturday afternoon Seminar that included Al Pacino, Angela Bessett, Willem Dafoe, Janet McTeer, Stellan Skarsgard, and Lena Endre.

It was a very interesting discussion, regardless of how pretentious the moderator was, unbelievable. The discussion centered on theater versus film acting.

Pacino described the difference this way, "imagine a tight rope 100 feet high," you either make it across, without error, or you don't. With film acting, Pacino says, "the rope is on the floor."

He spoke of the adrenaline rush he gets on stage, that he misses it and must, from time to time, "revisit it."

Stellen Skarsgard, you may remember him most as the math professor in GOODWILL HUNTING, was very elegant and insightful in his comparison of film versus stage acting. You can tell he truly loves the theater and movies.

Angela Bassett didn't offer much insight, she did respond to an audience question about playing many characters in the lifetime of an actor as a means for getting to know other races, people, and ways of life.

Willem Dafoe was very cool, thoughtful and had some great insights as well. For him, acting is like "having a mask on" with each new character he plays. He spoke a lot about the character he plays in SHAWDOW OF THE VAMPIRE, which I thought he was excellent in.
