A Week of Specs!

Wow, what a week it has been for new-be writers. I've noticed a ton of spec sales by first time writers, and of course a few pitches.
In a preemptive bid Walt Disney snatched off the market a spec script by recent UCLA screenwriting graduate Kimberly Simi titled, CASANOVA. It's the story of a member of the Casanova family, who are known for their skill as womanizers. The story is set in Venice.
Another sale that cought my eye, old Twentieth Century Fox acquired Nick Marine's action spec script CATCHING HELL. It's the story of a bounty hunter in pursuit of a fugitive, but soon discovers he is possessed by a demon.
