Oscar Nominated Screenwriter Dies

The death of writer Samuel A. Taylor was announced yesterday, May 30. Taylor (alongside co-adapters Billy Wilder and Ernest Lehman) was nominated for both an Oscar and a Golden Globe in '55 for SABRINA the film he adapted from his play SABRINA FAIR. The team lost out to George Seaton's THE COUNTRY GIRL. Taylor began his writing career as a journalist for the New Yorker before exploring radio, televison, and eventually film. His filmography includes the two Hitchcock thrillers, VERTIGO and TOPAZ.
